What options are available for long-term parking?

Gainesville Regional Airport offers both short-term and long-term parking options. The long-term parking lot is located adjacent to the short-term lot, providing convenient access to the terminal. The rates for long-term parking are as follows:

  • 0-30 minutes: $1.00
  • 30 minutes to 2 hours: $2.00
  • 2-3 hours: $4.00
  • 3-4 hours: $6.00
  • 4-5 hours: $8.00
  • 5-24 hours: $10.00
  • Weekly rate: $55.00

What are the rates for short-term parking?

The short-term parking lot is situated close to the terminal. The rates for short-term parking are as follows:

  • 0-30 minutes: $1.00
  • 30 minutes to 1 hour: $2.00
  • 1-2 hours: $3.00
  • 2-3 hours: $5.00
  • 3-4 hours: $7.00
  • 4-5 hours: $9.00
  • 5-6 hours: $11.00
  • 6-24 hours: $13.00

Can I reserve parking ahead of time?

Currently, Gainesville Regional Airport does not offer a reservation system for parking. All parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Is there a free waiting lot for picking up arrivals?

Yes, the airport provides a complimentary cell phone waiting area for drivers picking up arriving passengers. Vehicles must not be left unattended in this area.

Where is valet parking, and how much does it cost?

Valet parking services are not available at Gainesville Regional Airport.

Can electric vehicles (EVs) charge onsite?

Gainesville Regional Airport has partnered with BETA Technologies to install electric aircraft and vehicle charging infrastructure. This includes Level 2 chargers for electric vehicles, making GNV one of Florida’s early adopters of such utility upgrades.

Additionally, the City of Gainesville has been awarded a federal grant to build 47 new dual-port electric vehicle charging stations throughout the area, capable of charging up to 94 EVs simultaneously. While specific locations are yet to be finalized, this initiative will significantly enhance the availability of EV charging infrastructure in the region.

Where is covered parking available?

Gainesville Regional Airport has broken ground on a new covered parking garage and multimodal transportation center. The facility will feature over 400 parking spaces, electric vehicle charging stations, restrooms, and a covered walkway. Construction is underway, and the garage is expected to be available for public use upon completion.

Does the airport provide accessible parking options?

Yes, designated disabled permit parking is conveniently located in both the short-term and long-term parking lots. Short-term and long-term parking rates apply to vehicles displaying a disabled parking permit or license tag, except as provided by Florida Statute 316.1964. In accordance with Florida state law, no parking charges will be imposed on any vehicle with specialized equipment, such as ramps, foot or hand controls, for use by a person with a disability, or a vehicle displaying the Florida Toll Exemption Permit. Effective July 1, 2016, disabled veterans displaying a Florida Disabled Veterans license plate will receive free parking.

Which parking option is the most economical for long stays?

For extended stays, the long-term parking lot is the most cost-effective choice, offering a daily rate of $10.00 and a weekly rate of $55.00.
